The Communication and Technology Interest Group (formerly Human Information Technology) invites you to submit papers, panels, and other other innovative programming alternatives that explore the ways in which technologies impact human interaction, the ways in which we can enhance educational experiences using technology, and discussing the communication possibilities associated with new technologies. We will be particularly welcoming of submissions that celebrate of the 100th Anniverary ECA convention theme: "Defining Moments: A Century of Communication." with explorations, celebrations, and critiques of the impact of communication technologies in changing the ways in which we live, work, teach, learn, and communicate, but welcome all original research that explores the general topics associated with Communication and Technology.

The division encourages members to collaborate in creating and enhancing proposals. To support this, a discussion/collaboration space has been created using the public domain Moodle learning software. You can use this space to to propose and discuss ideas, identify participants with similar interests, and collaborate in developing proposals. Note in this that panel proposals that are received before the submission deadline will, with the permission of the submittor, be posted into this space in advance of evaluation with the objective of enabling collaboration and iterative improvement of those proposals before they are evaluated. This collaborative space can be accessed at http://messageecologies.com/ed. The site requires registration, registration confirmation, and an entry key ( "ecacat3").

Papers and proposals can be submitted to the Communication and Technology interest group via upload to the Conference submissions topic on the Moodle Discussion site (preferred) or e-mail to the 2009 Convention Planner (Davis Foulger, dfoulger@brooklyn.cuny.edu).
